Dr. Shashwat Shrivastava will start his General Surgery Residency at Montefiore Medical Centre, Bronx, New York, on July 1st, 2024. After graduating with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from St. Martinus University Faculty of Medicine in Curacao and completing his clinical rotations in the United States, he worked as a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at New York University Langone Hospital. 

Dr. Shashwat Shrivastava has published several observational studies under the surgical umbrella in reputed journals. He has also authored four chapters in the book “The Misdiagnosis Casebook in Clinical Medicine, 1st Edition” published by Springer Nature.

From being a research coordinator for industry trials to contributing to translational studies and animal studies and performing literature reviews, data acquisition, statistical analysis, and manuscript writing, Dr. Shashwat Shrivastava has a diverse portfolio in clinical and academic medicine.

The state ministry has also awarded him for his service during the COVID-19 pandemic in his home country. Outside of the hospital, his passions extend to cooking for his family and swimming, where he won several medals in competitions. He is also a certified advanced open-water scuba diver and loves diving in his leisure time. Playing table tennis and keeping the body and mind fit with exercise and meditation are his secrets to a happy and joyous life!
