What is the significance of a GMEIP Certification?

This achievement certifies that you possess the skills to apply the best practices of serving as a medical book chapter author. It allows you to join unlimited scholarly writing projects during your professional career.

When will I be assigned to a GMEIP writing team?

After you complete the course and receive your GMEIP certification, you will be eligible to be assigned to a GMEIP scholarly writing project and join a team as a chapter author. You will be assigned a subheading to write and mentored by experienced editors and authors.

How will I receive recognition as a chapter author?

You will be recognized as a chapter author in the following ways:

  • Your name and affiliation will appear in the “Contributors” section at the front of the book.
  • Your name will be listed on the GEMIP website’s book landing page.
  • Your name will be included in all book release announcements.
  • Your name will be listed on the “Author” section of Amazon.com’s book page.
  • Your name and affiliation will be shown in the Crossref metadata listing, enhancing the book’s connectivity and discoverability.
  • Your name will appear on all select marketing material for the book.
How is the order of co-authors decided?

Will GMEIP provide formatting and editing support?

Yes! GMEIP provides you and your writing team with easy-to-use templates. GEMIP also conducts a comprehensive plagiarism and AI scan before the manuscript is cleared for publication.

Will I receive a Letter of Recommendation (LOR)?

Yes! You will receive a Letter of Recommendation (LOR) from the Editor-in-Chief. Additionally, you will also receive a Letter of Attestation (LOA), which will validate your participation as a verified chapter author until your LOR can be prepared.

What do I need to do to earn a strong Letter of Recommendation (LOR)?

Attend all sessions and score a 90% or more on the formative and summative assessments.

What letterhead is the LOR on?

Global Medical Education Institute and Publishing, LLC – Office of the Dean of Academic Medicine and Editor-in-Chief.

Does the price include publication costs?

Yes, the price includes all of the publication costs. There are no extra out-of-pocket fees.

How many books will I contribute to in either course?

Upon completing either course and receiving your certificate, you will be assigned to a scholarly writing project. Additionally, the certificate allows you to participate in an unlimited number of academic writing projects throughout your professional career, at no additional cost or fees.

What happens after you register for a course?

After you register for a course, you will receive the course schedule, a Zoom invitation link, and be added to the dedicated WhatsApp group, where you will also receive all course materials.

What is the course refund policy?

A 100% refund will be issued before the start of Session 1. After that, no refund will be issued. No exceptions.

What happens after the course is finished?

You will be assigned to a scholarly writing project and work with a team. Every team will have an experienced mentor who will assess your work and provide guidance on a weekly basis. GMEIP prides itself on establishing and maintaining lifelong mentor relationships with its students and co-authors.

Where will the books be available?

GEMIP books are available on Amazon.com worldwide.

What happens if the book is not published?

The GMEIP Editorial Board reviews all medical textbook proposals. If a proposal is approved, the book project will commence and will be published.

How many students are in a class?

All courses have a maximum of 10 students per class. This small group size fosters an interactive learning environment.

When are the sessions scheduled?

The session schedule is flexible and will be determined by class consensus.

What if I miss a session? Are the sessions recorded?

If you commit to register for the course, you must attend all sessions. The learning environment fosters an interactive educational experience. Therefore, the sessions are not recorded.

Are GMEIP books peer-reviewed?

Yes! All GMEIP books undergo an independent peer review process.

What is the GMEIP Editors Program?

For GMEIP chapter authors who excel in their writing skills, we have designed a special program to train and mentor candidates to become an assistant or associate editor of a future GEMIP scholarly project.

Is GMEIP a member of Crossref?

Yes! Being a Crossref member allows GMEIP to create its own DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers). Crossref is the largest DOI registration agency, making it easy to find, cite, link, and enhance discoverability of scholarly work.
